Team Total Iceland wants to implore you guys interested in the stunning nature of Iceland to visit as soon as possible. Which makes little sense as we have already preached against more tourists. But there is a very good reason…

You see, unlike most profit-driven tourist information sites we actually like to do good regardless. Good to people making the effort of seeing this, as yet, stunning country of ours. We fear later on you´ll see a lot less of this stunning island.

What we mean is the fact that according to local news an electricity producer in the Westfjords part of Iceland wants to produce more power and for that the company needs access to fresh amounts of water from new lakes in the highland of that part. Turns out, the body of water targeted for use this time is the same one producing the water for one of Iceland´s most remarkable waterfalls; Dynjandi waterfall.

Now, you can read your heart out about Dynjandi here but let us start and end this discussion with the fact that Dynjandi is the ONLY seriously large or beautiful waterfall in the whole of the Westfjords. Regardless that the energy company states that there will be no or little change to the waterfall that is simply not something you can take on face value. What if that assessment turns out to be wrong…
