Ideas for those eloping to Iceland
Special occasions call for special measures. Which is why a growing number of lovebirds the world over contemplate eloping to Iceland to make their vows. That is, for the most part, a seriously good idea if you ask us.
Why for the most part?
Because where else is there the chance of getting married in stunning nature in old, romantic wooden churches where the silence is broken only by birds singing and the hurrahs of the guests? Where else can the Midnight sun or the Northern lights bathe the lovebirds in rays of glory? Where else can folks get married in front of en Elf church and host a reception the old fashion Iceland way?
We could go on but there is a small downside too. Namely, how many do tie the knot here already and how many do so in very popular places like Seljalands- og Skogafoss waterfalls, Thingvellir National park or even by Gullfoss and Geysir. Which are not bad places if throngs of tourists are invited too and you are willing to pay tourist prices for anything and everything.
Which is sad as Iceland is crowded with places a hundred thousand times more romantic and lovely than those. Places where not a tourist is to be seen and locals still bend over backwards to help out without demanding anything in return.
Team Total Iceland offers smaller wedding/eloping services and while we will help anyone out we have two places specifically in mind for the service and/or party or reception if need be. Places not on the tourist maps. Places as local and real as real itself.
