Solo traveling in Iceland? No problemo

Nothing is 100% safe but traveling alone in Iceland comes very close. PIC alwbutler

Of all the places on all this planet you will be hard-pressed to find any other location where you can travel on your own without so much as a whiff of anxiety or danger than in Iceland.

This includes either bar-hopping over a weekend in Reykjavik city or hitchhiking your way around the island on the Ring road. The odds of meeting anyone worse than teeny weeny weird once in awhile are extremely low.

We could throw all kinds of statistics at you to prove our point but we never bullshit. We know only to be honest and solo traveling here is as safe as safe can be. Period.

In fact, in some cases it is very much nicer to wander about alone. It gets you so much more connected to nature and in Iceland nature is world class.

  1. With the increase in visitors going to Iceland, you are bound to have some evil people who will be up to no good, especially if they know a lot of people travel alone.

True enough but unlike most other countries crimes are rare because it is an island and news travel fast among the small population. There is not much room for manouver 😉 Up until now the worst single travelers have to content with here is loneliness
