Strikes in Iceland could well dent your trip
As we reported a few days ago strikes are happening in specific industries in Iceland these days and will continue to do so. More to the point, in the beginning of June those strikes could begin to seriously hamper your travel.
Among folks threatening strikes because of horrible pay are the good people making sure we leave the airport with our bags and the airplanes full of jet fuel and other necessities. On their part a limited strike is scheduled in the very beginning of June and if that does not do the trick another strike, unlimited one, is planned for 6th of June.
Now, no one can say if by that time things have been straightened out but you should keep in mind possible disruptions on flights for that time period and possibly cancel your trip if you have no buffer zone for travel in Iceland. Mind you, flights will probably not stop altogether but there might be cases of severe delays, possibly even for days.
