There is no shortage of fantastic photos, videos and interactive maps showing interested parties exactly what is happening in the volatile area in Vatnajokull glacier and North of that same glacier.

Probably the best thing to actually being in the helicopter yourself and shows well how marvelous volcanic eruptions can be.…

Just when things could not get worse, they get worse. Someone, somewhere decided Iceland could use a lot more tourists than it already has.

Living in a country positively bursting with energy the people of Iceland are routinely reminded to expect the unexpected. Which is why some people believe the tremors and rumblings beneath Vatnajokull glacier lately are but a suspenseful preview of dramatic things to come.

One would think, in a country where tremors, quakes and volcanoes are part and parcel of daily life local authorities would be well equipped and professional about warning tourists about possible hazards or dangers.

Local scientists in Iceland are beginning to backtrack away from there really being a sub glacial volcano erupting in Vatnajokull glacier in Iceland.

If today it was your intention to visit Dettifoss waterfall or neaby Jokulsargljufur canyon in Iceland you could not have picked a worse date.
