Quite possibly the most beautiful place in beautiful Iceland

Any travel guide praising one place in Iceland above another is really going out on a limb. This is a place that is so chock-full of intensely beautiful spots there better be some seriously great arguments to support the statement.

All over but the crying – Curtain falls on Holuhraun volcano

Well, well, well. Seems you are a teeny weeny bit too late for that excellent, tourist-friendly volcano in Iceland. Holuhraun volcano, spewing non-stop since August 2014 seems to have finally run out of steam.

Bardarbunga volcanic rift in Iceland likely soon accessible

Remember that volcanic rift in the North of Iceland a few months ago? Would you believe it is still going strong?

Seems some people out there care about little more than imitating their favorite superstars in all and everything. Which is why we´re showing you where exactly some scenes from the movie Interstellar were taken in Iceland.

How scared should you be about Bardarbunga volcano in Iceland?

You´ve finally put the finishing touches on your travel plan around Iceland next summer after much thought and contemplation.

Quick, massive and devastating. What happens if Bardarbunga in Iceland blows

Scientists in Iceland are well aware of the potential force that could be unleashed if and when Bardarbunga volcano underneath Vatnajokull ice cap does blow.

Iceland volcano in plainspeak

There is no shortage of fantastic photos, videos and interactive maps showing interested parties exactly what is happening in the volatile area in Vatnajokull glacier and North of that same glacier.

Land of decoration – Iceland volcano from above

Some things simply speak for themselves. Like this great video taken a couple of days ago over the volcanic rift in Holuhraun North of Vatnajokull glacier.

Probably the best thing to actually being in the helicopter yourself and shows well how marvelous volcanic eruptions can be.…

Perhaps the silence before the storm in Iceland

Living in a country positively bursting with energy the people of Iceland are routinely reminded to expect the unexpected. Which is why some people believe the tremors and rumblings beneath Vatnajokull glacier lately are but a suspenseful preview of dramatic things to come.

Tourist warnings in Iceland seldom very professional

One would think, in a country where tremors, quakes and volcanoes are part and parcel of daily life local authorities would be well equipped and professional about warning tourists about possible hazards or dangers.

Warnings of erupting volcano in Iceland probably premature

Local scientists in Iceland are beginning to backtrack away from there really being a sub glacial volcano erupting in Vatnajokull glacier in Iceland.

Eruption Iceland style forces evacuation of tourists

If today it was your intention to visit Dettifoss waterfall or neaby Jokulsargljufur canyon in Iceland you could not have picked a worse date.
