Should you be one of the gullible traveling blissfully around Iceland in deep winter this is something you should know about. Seems the local Met Office believes one of the strongest winds on record for decades will hit the North and East of Iceland over Christmas-time.
This means you either get the hell out of there or bunk down over the the 24th and 25th of December in a nice hotel or other solid accommodation.
Else you might spend Christmas this year stuck in a car or outside in freezing cold and dark winter and freeze to death. Not exactly the correct way to spend the holidays.
But joking aside. The forecast is for the lowest low pressure winds to batter this area over the holdays. Prepare yourself.
