All you folks out there planning your Iceland trip in 2015 blissfully unaware that the famous Blue lagoon will not be a particularly relaxing place in 2015. Nor in 2016. Not to mention 2017.
This “Wonder of the World” as some all-expenses-paid-and-then-some-freebies-to-boot journalist from Nat Geo decided to call the Blue lagoon in Iceland a few years back is stepping up its game.[blockquote type=”blockquote_line” align=”right”]bathers are in for some noise from cranes, saws, hammers and whatnot[/blockquote]
Starting in March 2015 a huge modern luxury hotel will be built beside the lagoon itself with views over the opaque and enticing water. Boys and girls club´s everywhere should start planning, it will be quite some fun to shout and scream at lovely ladies and men bathing in the blue water rubbing themselves with its potent mud.
Until then, bathers are in for some serious noise from cranes, saws, hammers and whatnot daily for months. That in itself may not change anything for folks used to noise and roars of engines, cranes, foremen and whatnot but it can hardly be pleasant for anyone else.
As of this moment there is no indication the lagoon will lower its prices while the construction is going on. Indeed, there is not even a warning on the website about possible disturbances in 2015. They´d rather you pay and be angry or disappointed. And just imagine, the Blue lagoon boss is the head of the Iceland tourism association. What does that say about that guy and his attention to service?
