There really is no shortage of competition regarding the Northern lights. Those flickering wavy flares of green and yellow thundering across the skies above the Nordic every winter is a sight so common no one except tourist agencies give them a second thought. Very much like the sunshine over the equator for folks living there.
[blockquote type=”blockquote_line” align=”right”]the sight of the lights is a must-see for every living soul[/blockquote]But for travel agencies the Northern lights can mean the difference between a boarded up shop and laughing in the bank and heading for Bahamas for six months with the extended family. This goes for agencies in Canada, Iceland, Norway, Finland and elsewhere where tourist head North en-masse to see the lights with their own two eyes. Some, like the Japanese, come for reproduction since some of those believe a child consumed under the flickering lights bring luck and money to the child. Which makes little sense since poor folks are found in rather large numbers in the North.
Be that as it may, the sight of the lights is a must-see for every living soul. No less so than seeing the sun on a regular basis. Which is why we highly recommend a recent Norwegian documentary demonstrating the lights, how they form, what part they have played throughout and not least how extremely beautiful they can be.
