You know how all the Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci models are out of this world beautiful in all the fancy ads. Well, same fancy photo editing is applied to try to entice you to visit Iceland.
The pic above is taken from the Icelandair Russian website. Icelandair being the largest airlines in Iceland and in fact, one of the largest companies in whole of Iceland. They own airlines, hotels, car rental agencies et cetera and are a massive force in tiny Iceland with quite a cloud over rather lame politicians too.
But what does it say about the company that they feel the need to Photoshop the wonders of Iceland for foreign ad campaigns? Yeah, it does say a lot doesn´t it? As if Iceland needs any Photo-shopping like a cheap Vogue model. This place is awesome just as it is.
The pic above is supposed to entice loving couples over here from Russia to enjoy the warm waters all by them lonesome. A foreigner might wonder if this is the famous Blue Lagoon or the Nature Baths of Myvatn, whereas the water in both is deep blue and splendidly hot.
It is neither. This place does not exist in reality. It is partly photo-shopped from pics from the Blue lagoon but then they add those beautiful lava rocks overgrown with moss. Oh, and the fancy couple is all alone.
None of this relates in any way to reality. Take all this shit with some serious grains of salt and pepper too.
