True. We cannot compete with Thailand, Spain, Italy, United States or any other popular southerly golf destination.
We don´t have the nice weather. We don´t have the cheap prices. We don´t have centuries of fancy history and last we checked no fancy-ass golfer was born in these parts.
So, what the F*ck are we getting at?
Well, you might be surprised to know that in Iceland we have four or five pretty world-class golf courses that can easily challenge many much more famous courses in Ireland, Scotland, England, France or Canada. Four or five depending on your preference.

What we do have is pretty cheap green fees. Amazing variety of courses all over the country. Courses with views over some of the most majestic scenery on the planet. Very helpful locals willing to assist in everything and seldom much trouble getting tee-time with little notice.
Furthermore, where else can you golf in an old volcanic crater? Try your luck on a course built around frozen lava thousands of years old? Lose your ball into a real volcanic fissure? Making a birdie whilst enjoying the splendor of a geyser nearby? Taking a pivot into sand so black it redefines blackness? Letting it rip in a deep valley so narrow you almost get claustrophobic? Getting attacked by vicious birds each time you miss the fairway? Or teeing off the first at midnight for an all-nighter without a night?
