In many cultures speaking about the weather is equivalent to having nothing to say and even in some cases an indication you do not want to talk at all. Not so in wind- and frostbitten Iceland.

Here, weather is all the rage and perhaps understandably as these last few years locals have seen both sunnier summers and warmer winters. Therefore, since May has been awful, weatherwise, and forecasts for June are nothing to write home about there has been a feverish debate if this is a sign of a bad summer or not.

The verdict is out now. At least three learned specialists have made their summer forecast and indeed the summer of 2013 will not be remembered for being hot and nice if the calculations are correct. Quite the opposite as it will be more windy and more rainy these months locals call the summertime.

We all know forecasts by men are not very reliable and team Total Iceland keeps its hopes up regardless. But this is something to keep in mind if you´re thinking of visiting and believe the science of weather is accurate and reliable.
