Arriving in Seydisfjordur village loaded with stuff from home will only start your trip badly when these things are taken from you. PIC Loup et Mag
Team Total Iceland is a bit two-faced at the moment. On the one hand we understand completely why foreigners, especially Germans, coming to expensive Iceland feel the need to bring stuff like food or alcohol with them. On the other hand we cannot understand taking stuff from home when you are trying to get a feel for a different country.
Yup, this team could well be bipolar.
But in case any Germanic peoples are packing homey stuff into their suitcases for the ferry ride to Seydisfjordur Iceland be aware the customs authorities do no allow anything into the country that has not been duly processed and paid for. And paying the toll on stuff is not worth it at all.
That is why we almost feel sorry for the hundreds of Germans arriving in good spirits in their tour buses this week only to be stripped of truckloads of German made delicacies. Such selection of wares have hardly been seen in the village of Seydisfjordur ever.
