It is no secret team Total Iceland does not recommend visiting Iceland in wintertime for a variety of reasons. But everyone else is dying for you to come and spend your hard earned money in cash-starved Iceland. Even by resorting to bluffing.

The pic above is from a feed by Inspired in Iceland which is among the official tourism websites of this country. It might well be those three pics will compel someone to rush to book a winter trip but we have some issues here. The third picture, kayaking in the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon is taken in summertime.

Even worse, this is not something you can easily do. Due to the dangers of getting too close to the massive glacier flowing into the lagoon all kayaking or sailing except by professionals is discouraged and no kayaks or private boats can be rented at site.

Go figure.
