I n the greedy department of things, the chiefs of the bus company Iceland Excursions/Kynnisferðir, will have a hard time getting into heaven.

This company, owned and run by close relatives of Iceland´s finance minister, has upped their prices for the simple 45 minute trip between “Reykjavik airport” and Reykjavik well over 90% in just four years.

That, good readers, is called SUPERGREED and corresponds completely with the actions of this family throughout history.

Nowadays, to get from the international airport in Keflavik, not Reykjavik, to the semi-center of Reykjavik city this bus company demands 3.500 ISK ( 23€ / 27$) from each and every individual.

Yup, the buses are nice and there is free wifi but what the f$%k! You can buy a five hour express train ride between Madrid and Barcelona in Spain for 1200 ISK at the time of writing. In other words; this is ridiculous.

A better option, although you have to walk 30 paces more to find them after exiting Keflavik airport, is to spot the Grey Line buses a little further away. While not cheap by any standards, and some company executives super suspect,  these will whisk you close to Reykjavik center for almost 16% less.

Neither company is being fair and square but you do not have many options from Keflavik airport unless you´re loaded and money is never an object. Sadly, that is not the reality for the most of us.
