You may or may not know about a very popular recent video taken in Iceland that has been making waves on social media for the last few days. The video, often referred to as the epic drone video, is indeed stunning. But what few realize that the video is really an ode to disappearing places.

First off, watch the fascinating video made by FStoppers:

Blown away yet?

Quite an introduction to this fair land if you´ve never been here before. Proves a little bit what team Total Iceland has been saying all along about there being so many places worth visiting here that few ever see or take the time for. Few places in that particular video are taken in the tourist hot spots.

But to the sad news. Those fascinating waterfalls still fresh in your mind? Most of those are destined to die.

If government plans about further dams come to fruition those wonderful waterfalls, Aldeyjarfoss waterfall and Hrafnabjargarfoss waterfall, will partly or wholly disappear within few years.

The fascinating video could thus be seen as the long goodbye. So, pardon us, for feeling more sad than awed.
