Team Total Iceland has repeatedly told you guys NOT to to show your face here unless in high-summer if you want a good time and great memories. The only memories people here now will take back home will be of uprooted trees, winds that chill bones even before you go outside and hard-to-follow roads since snow covers most tracks outside of towns or cities.
Admittedly, this is a bit too soon for the winter to gatecrash the party in Iceland but not unheard of either. It is the kind of weather you see in all these cacao adverts where you cuddle up with your loved one close by the indoor fire place. Sadly, these places are long taken by locals.
We feel obliged to warn you about driving in the highlands or any mountainous road these days. Snow has fallen and most cars from the rental agencies here do not have tires for that occasion yet. Just today local rescue teams in the country has had to come to the aid of 25 tourists stuck in their cars on some highland road.
You´ve been warned again. Come in July 🙂
