According to some bank in the UK tourists to Iceland should get their hands on some local currency sooner than later since there is a shortage of the Iceland kronas available. You should not waste one second worrying though.
Not that team Total Iceland favors this down-and-out currency of ours which is, we are told, the smallest currency in circulation in the world. Problem is, small krona makes for high prices.
But short supply of kronas will not register for the majority of tourists here. Most of us use credit cards or debit cards on our travels abroad and you can pay with such a card in 99,9 per cent of places here. Even in flea markets you could pay with cards.
There is also no shortage of kronas in circulation in-country and ATM´s are widely found if you happen to run into the one place not taking plastic for payment.
