Some things are too good to be true. That may be the case for serious fly-fishing individuals for now there is amazing opportunity in Iceland. Due to over-pricing few fishing permits have been sold clearing the way to haggle over prices.

We are not talking about just any river but a few of Iceland´s best fishing rivers and those hold their own against the very best other countries have to offer. In particular, permits for the famous Nordura salmon river, aren´t selling at all and many other good river spots are selling badly.

Now, for a country rising from economic ruins this is bad news and as the saying goes: what is bad for one is good for another. Total Iceland is not guaranteeing anything but chances are bold people could well get days in great rivers this year for excellent prices just by haggling.

The owners of course want to make a buck and unused permits are not good to anyone. Make an offer and see what happens.
