You know the drill. According to the fancy brochure, website or the colorful ad this is absolutely the place to take in while visiting Reykjavik Iceland. Where angels wait on tables and rock-solid musicians play every night. Not to mention the very recommended viking saga show.
This is roughly what an Irish bar in Naustin street in downtown Reykjavik boasts to tourists. The name of this joint? Dubliner. Seems every Irish person opening a bar anywhere in the world has but one idea for a frigging name for a place.
However, very unlike most Irish bars around the world, and team Total Iceland has certainly taken in quite a few, this one is both empty and soulless, expensive and the “famous” viking show is but an empty and shallow joke. Apparently some foreigners dig the joint according to Tripadvisor where this place gets a four star treatment based on four reviews at the time of writing. But before you ooohh and aahhh consider that this rating only makes the place rank 137 out of 208 restaurants/bars in the capital. For a bar smack in the middle of downtown Reykjavik that is crappy ass rank in any language.
Naturally, all places in the world are great if you are with good friends but we recommend you stay away from this place and check out some of the other 136 decent bars in Reykjavik.
