Let´s not beat around George Bush. A number of you visit Iceland looking less for stunning natural beauty and more for stunning babes and boys in bars and clubs. This is evident by the growing numbers of all-male or all-female groups visiting for a short stay.

All fine and dandy. Clubbing and partying is as much a part of the nightlife here as elsewhere and getting up-close and personal abroad is no less fun than back home.

But there is ample reason to take all possible care if and when things get really heated. Over 20 percent of young people in Iceland is infected with chlamydia to take but one example according to studies. The number is most likely higher since many carry the disease unknowingly. It is also thought well over five percent of all girls between 18 and 25 have chronic chlamydia.

We could go on and tell you that one in five girls under the age of 40 has suffered from genital warts etc…

Quite high numbers for a tiny nation where most everyone is related in one way or another. But we will stop here. Use common sense and take precaution wherever you go.
