You guys are having a good time in Reykjavik Iceland and now´s finally the time to try the famous Blue lagoon. How to get there and how much is it?

The four of you contemplate taking the bus to and fro but as this requires some walk to the bus station and the lowest prices for all of you including admission will set you back a whopping 35.600 ISK (316$ / 230€) you decide you´d rather splurge on taxi. And splurge you´ll have to. The cost of this will total 25.300 ISK (218$ / 160€).Lower than the bus yes but no admission. Add 20.000 ISK more for the whole nine yards or around 100$ per head for the drive and a basic dip.

Turns out taxi-services in Iceland have very quickly become among the most expensive in the world. Taxi fare from the Keflavik airport into Reykjavik city per kilometer is more expensive then taxi ride from airports in London or Frankfurt to name some according to Economist Intelligence Unit. To get your ass from the airport into a Reykjavik city hotel fork out 141$ one way. That is 20 dollars more than a taxi from Heathrow into central London.

Welcome to Iceland.
