People are able to walk behind the waterfall Seljalandsfoss in Iceland which is a nice treat. PIC Alessio
Journalism everywhere is a dying profession. When the cheapest route to success depends on quantity and the number of clicks and likes the best business seems to be to hire absolute novices and just rerun old stories with some slight new twist. Problem is, this can be so utterly misleading for gullible readers it can ruin everything.
A case in point a recent photographic article in the Huffington Post, Photographic stuff tends to get more clicks and are easily done in few minutes. Just scout large picture banks and write whatever comes to mind and voilà![blockquote type=”blockquote_line” align=”right”]not conductive to experiencing the sights and sounds of nature[/blockquote]
The name of the article is „In Honor of National Relaxation Day“ and is made up of photos from a number of very beautiful places worldwide where allegedly folks can unwind like nowhere else.
One place caught our attention. Seljalandsfoss waterfall in South Iceland. A very fine and majestic waterfall and certainly among the best known in Iceland. But tranquil IT IS NOT. Relaxing here is as likely as relaxing in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
Not only is the waterfall extremely easy to find as it is but steps away from the Ring Road highway circling Iceland. Which means EVERYONE makes a stop. Everyone in 2014 means a million people or so. Half of those in buses and half in rental cars which is not conductive to experiencing the sights and sounds of nature. Not to mention a restaurant open 24/7.
Nope, ladies and gentlemen. This is as tranquil as a Vegas casino on a Saturday night contrary to what the HuffPost wants you to think.
