It is truly a wonderful world is it not? People in the Northeast of Iceland have this morning been able to witness two major events at the same time and totally free too.
Yup, we have a small eruption near Vatnajokull glacier but sadly for interested parties the remnants of a hurricane are passing by making the place rather hostile.
The rift in question started spewing lava just after midnight Iceland time at exactly the same time that the wafts from hurricane Cristobal made their way over the country. That´s a 2-for-1 show if there ever was one.
For those not about to go sightseeing during wild weather you can relax. The eruption is still going, although less forceful than in the beginning, and the hurricane leftover is passing by slowly but surely. Patience is key.
