For its part, team Total Iceland, is sick and tired of foreigners calling on this country to stop whaling, calling on all Icelanders to stop whaling making the assumption that the people here are responsible for hunting whales.

Apart from everything else, like not selling much of the meat, this looks pretty bad image-wise for Iceland and Icelanders. Not to mention the agony of the animals since harpoons used by Iceland whalers belong in antique museums.

But the sad truth is, apart from the government allowing limited yearly catch, there is only ONE guy responsible for all whale hunting in Iceland. Only the wealthy and influential Kristjan Loftsson, owner of Hvalur ehf, gets quotas and sends his many whalers to sea each year backed by the government.

His personal address is: Kristjan Loftsson, Hvalur hf., Reykjavikurvegi 48, 220 Hafnarfjordur, Iceland. Telephone: 00 354 555 0565

Make a call, have a chat and stop calling on „Iceland“ to stop whaling. Call on „Kristjan“ to stop whaling.
