I t would seem contradictory at first glance. Icelanders, surrounded by the most majestic natural sights on the planet, should be high on beauty 24 seven year round. Instead the nation boasts being the most depressed nation in Europe and probably the world.
Yeah, we are leaders alright but in all the wrong categories. The newest survey of OECD clearly shows that, as in earlier studies, Icelanders lead the way in swallowing anti-depressant medicines in whole of Europe and far ahead of another nation, Denmark, which incidentally are also highly spoken of generally as a pretty likable folks.
Thus, next time you marvel at the friendliness of locals in Iceland spare a thought as to how hard it would seem to be to be upbeat around here.
